Blues Point Reserve in McMahons Point is one of Sydney's most iconic and sought-after locations for a wedding ceremony. The location in North Sydney is close to numerous restaurants, function spaces, and hotels, making the transition from your ceremony to your reception smooth and simple. This proximity can simplify logistics for you and your guests.
Blues Point Reserve is a public park managed by North Sydney Council. A formal booking is required for larger gatherings, but it is a very popular spot for small, simple ceremonies.

If your wedding requires a formal booking (i.e., 60 or more guests), you need to contact North Sydney Council:
For smaller, informal ceremonies, you can often proceed without a formal Council booking.
Standard: 20 People. Add Guests: Add up to 50 in total +$75.
You can have up to 20 people (the 2 of you and 18 guests) at your ceremony. This excludes children under 6 years old. For an additional fee of $75, this number can be increased to 50 people in total. To add guests after your initial booking, go to the Add-ons tab in your portal.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to your ceremony (along with your guests) to ensure you are in the right location and ready to go at your scheduled time. Blues Point Reserve is located in McMahons Point, North Sydney, NSW 2060.
Limited on-street metered parking is available on Blues Point Road and surrounding streets. This is a residential and commercial area, and parking spots can be difficult to find, especially on weekends or during peak times. It is highly recommended that you and your guests arrive early to search for a spot, or consider pre-booking a parking space in a nearby commercial car park in North Sydney.
The most picturesque way to arrive. Take a ferry to McMahons Point Wharf. The reserve is a very short, approximately 3-5 minute walk up Blues Point Road from the wharf. This is an excellent option for guests travelling from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour.
Take a train to North Sydney Station. From the station, the reserve is about a 10-15 minute walk, primarily downhill towards the harbour. You can also catch a local bus or taxi/ride-share service from the station to the reserve area.
A convenient option, especially for the wedding party. Direct your driver to the intersection of Blues Point Road and Henry Lawson Avenue, or the nearby street address. Be aware that traffic can be heavy during peak times.
Now it doesn't happen often, but when it does you will need to shelter under trees or bring umbrellas - how romantic. As a public park, Blues Point Reserve does not have a dedicated, large undercover structure for weddings.
a) Public Park
I understand that this location is a public park and no fee has been paid for it.
b) Guest Numbers
I understand that the Standard number of people is 20. This can be increased to 60 people for an additional fee of $75 (click on Add Ons after making your booking). If I wish to have more than 60 people, we will need to book the location and pay any associated fees.
c) Standard Duration of Booking is 30 Minutes
I understand that the total time for the standard booking is 30 minutes and that this time cannot be extended on the day of the ceremony. However, if you would like to extend the duration of your booking, this can be done prior to the date of the ceremony for an additional fee of $150. (Click on Add Ons after making your booking.)
d) Confetti and Natural Materials
I understand that confetti of any sort, including natural materials such as flower petals, rice, glitter, or artificial equivalents, are strictly prohibited.
e) Public Liability Insurance
I understand that if Public Liability confirmation is required (for more than 60 people), there will be an additional fee of $50.
