As a premier Sydney marriage venue, Bradfield Park, nestled beneath the towering structure of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Milsons Point, offers an unparalleled backdrop for your special day. It’s a spectacular alternative to a traditional marriage registry office, giving you world-class views and a beautiful park setting for your wedding ceremony. Here are five compelling reasons why couples choose this iconic location for their wedding celebrant ceremony.
Imagine exchanging vows with the majestic Sydney Harbour Bridge soaring above you, and the Sydney Opera House and city skyline perfectly framed across the water. This view is a photographer’s dream and guarantees truly unforgettable wedding photos.
Bradfield Park provides a lovely expanse of green lawn and mature trees, offering a natural and serene environment despite its central location. The greenery provides a beautiful contrast to the steel and stone of the bridge, enhancing your ceremony aesthetic.
Located in Milsons Point, the park is incredibly easy for you and your guests to reach, whether you're coming from the city centre or further afield. Excellent public transport links, including a train station and ferry wharf just a short walk away, make logistics simple.
Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or a celebration with a slightly larger group, the park offers versatile space. It’s known as a fantastic outdoor venue for both small and mid-sized wedding ceremonies.
The park features beautiful sandstone structures that not only add texture and a classic feel to your photographs but can also offer some lovely pockets of shade or a quaint setting for your ceremony.
Standard: 20 People. Add Guests: Add up to 60 in total +$75.
You can have up to 20 people (the 2 of you and 18 guests) at your ceremony. This excludes children under 6 years old. For an additional fee of $75, this number can be increased to 60 people in total. To add guests after your initial booking, go to the Add-ons tab in your portal.
I understand that if I plan to have more than 20 people, it is my responsibility to make the required booking with the park authority and pay any associated site fees directly to them.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to your ceremony (along with your guests) to ensure you are in the right location and ready to go at your scheduled time. Bradfield Park is conveniently located in Milsons Point, right next to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Bradfield Park is close to the Cahill Expressway exit. Metered street parking is available in the surrounding streets of Milsons Point and Kirribilli (e.g., Alfred Street South, Fitzroy Street). Please note that parking can be limited and is generally paid. Allow ample time to find a spot and pay for your parking. Alternatively, there are paid parking stations nearby, such as the North Sydney Olympic Pool Car Park.
The park is easily accessible via the Sydney Trains network. Take the T1 North Shore Line to Milsons Point Station. The park is only a 3-5 minute walk downhill from the station exit towards the harbour.
For a truly scenic arrival, take a Sydney Ferry to Milsons Point Wharf. The park is immediately adjacent to the wharf, making this one of the simplest and most picturesque ways for guests to arrive.
Several bus routes service the Milsons Point area, stopping near the Milsons Point Station or along Alfred Street South. Check real-time transport apps for the best route from your starting location.
Now it doesn't happen often, but when it does you will need to shelter under trees or bring umbrellas - how romantic.
Bradfield Park has a few small, permanent sandstone structures within the park area that can offer minimal shelter in the event of light rain. However, these are small, public structures and cannot be reserved or guaranteed for your exclusive use. For a significant downpour, there are no large, convenient undercover options within the park itself, so couples often rely on:
a) Public Park Acknowledgment
I understand that this venue is a public park and that no site fee has been charged for its use by you (the provider).
b) Guest Capacity
I understand the Standard maximum number of people is 20. I can increase this to a maximum of 60 people for an extra $75 (I will select Add Ons after booking).
I understand that if I plan to have more than 60 people, it is my responsibility to make the required booking with the park authority and pay any associated site fees directly to them.
c) Booking Duration
I understand the Standard booking time is 30 minutes, which is plenty of time for a beautiful ceremony. I acknowledge that this duration cannot be extended on the day of the ceremony.
If I wish to extend the time, I understand I must arrange this prior to the ceremony date for an additional $150 for an additional 30 minutes (I will select Add Ons after booking).
d) Confetti and Prohibited Materials
I understand that confetti of any sort, including natural materials such as flower petals, rice, glitter, or artificial equivalents, are strictly prohibited.
e) Public Liability Insurance
I understand that an additional fee of $50 will apply if Public Liability confirmation is required for bookings with more than 60 people.
