Searching for the perfect **wedding venue** or **marriage venue** that offers breathtaking natural beauty and a relaxed atmosphere? Killalea Regional Park, near Shellharbour on the NSW South Coast, is an exceptional location. As a renowned **marriage celebrant** destination, Killalea provides stunning backdrops for your 'I do' moment. Here are five top reasons why couples choose this magnificent location for their ceremony:
The park is famous for its panoramic ocean views. Ceremony spots on the headlands, like Frasers headland or Mystics View, overlook iconic surf beaches, including 'The Farm' and Mystics Beach. These vistas create a truly stunning and memorable setting for your vows and an incredible natural backdrop for your **wedding celebrant** and photography.
Surrounded by coastal heath, remnant rainforest, and lush greenery, Killalea offers a tranquil escape. The immense natural beauty of the location creates a serene and intimate environment, perfect for focusing on your commitment. It's an ideal choice for couples seeking a nature-immersed **wedding venue** experience.
Compared to some larger, all-inclusive **wedding venues** on the South Coast, Killalea can be a more affordable and straightforward option for just your ceremony. It is also easily accessible by car, and you'll find plentiful, free on-site parking for your guests, making it a stress-free **marriage venue** choice.
The diverse landscape of Killalea Regional Park, including rugged headlands, unspoiled beaches, and lush rainforest pockets, provides endless opportunities for unique and beautiful **wedding venues near me** photos. The natural light and varied scenery ensure your wedding album will be spectacular and distinctive.
If you and your partner love the outdoors, this **marriage venue** offers a chance to get married in a location that truly reflects your shared interests. With activities like surfing, fishing, and bushwalking nearby, it’s a place you might already have a special connection with or can return to easily to celebrate anniversaries.
Killalea Regional Park is managed by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), and a formal booking and permit are required to hold a wedding ceremony to ensure exclusive use of your chosen area for the duration of your ceremony. This is an essential step when planning your outdoor **marriage registry office** alternative.
It is the couple's responsibility to secure all necessary permits and pay any associated location fees directly to the NPWS to ensure the location is reserved for your ceremony.
Standard: 20 People. Add Guests: Add up to 100+ in total +$75.
You can have up to 20 people (the 2 of you and 18 guests) at your ceremony. This excludes children under 6 years old. For an additional fee of $75, this number can be increased to 100+ people in total. To add guests after your initial booking, go to the Add-ons tab in your portal.
I understand that, it is my responsibility to make the required booking with the park authority and pay any associated site fees directly to them.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to your ceremony (along with your guests) to ensure you are in the right location and ready to go at your scheduled time. This beautiful **wedding venue** is located between Shellharbour and Kiama on the NSW South Coast.
Killalea Regional Park is located at Killalea Drive, Shell Cove NSW 2529. The most direct way to arrive is by car. From Sydney or Wollongong, drive south on the M1 Motorway and follow the directions towards Shellharbour Road, then Dunmore Road, Southern Cross Boulevard, and finally Killalea Drive. Using a GPS navigation system is highly recommended.
Plentiful and free on-site parking is available near the main ceremony locations (Frasers Headland and Mystics View). We recommend guests carpool where possible. Ensure all cars are parked in designated areas only.
If travelling from further afield, you can take a South Coast Line train to Shellharbour Junction station. From there, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service for the final 10-15 minute drive to the park, as public transport access is limited.
Public bus services in the Shellharbour area are limited and do not provide direct access to the park entrance. We strongly advise planning for a private vehicle, taxi, or rideshare for reliable transport to this **wedding venue**.
Now it doesn't happen often, but when it does you will need to shelter under trees or bring umbrellas - how romantic.
A small rotunda (or similar public shelter) may be available for limited cover near some locations within the park. Please note that this is a public amenity and cannot be exclusively booked or guaranteed for wet weather use.
Bringing colourful or clear umbrellas is a classic and romantic solution for light rain, providing cover for the couple and guests while still enjoying the stunning park scenery in your **wedding celebrant** photos.
