Pokolbin Park, nestled in the heart of the Hunter Valley's wine country, is a beautifully maintained yet lesser-known public space offering a charming and serene setting for your wedding ceremony. Surrounded by native trees and shrubs, it provides a peaceful, natural backdrop just minutes from many renowned Pokolbin attractions and wedding venues. It’s a wonderful spot for couples seeking a simple, natural, and truly romantic outdoor celebration among the vineyards.
The park boasts sweeping views of the surrounding Hunter Valley vineyards and is framed by established native trees and manicured lawns, offering a picturesque and tranquil setting for your vows and stunning wedding photos.
Situated conveniently on a main Pokolbin road, the park is incredibly close to famous wineries, award-winning restaurants, and a vast array of accommodation options, making it easy for you and your guests to transition to a reception or celebration afterwards.
Beyond the open lawns, the park features little garden nooks and seating areas, perfect for more intimate moments, small gatherings, or adding variety to your photography backdrops.
Unlike some secluded winery locations, Pokolbin Park is easily accessible, located at a prominent corner, and provides dedicated parking facilities, ensuring your guests arrive stress-free and on time.
As a public park managed by the local council, it often presents a more affordable and flexible outdoor venue option compared to private estates, ideal for a streamlined elopement or simple, low-key wedding ceremony.
Standard: 20 People. Add Guests: Add up to 60 in total +$75.
You can have up to 20 people (the 2 of you and 18 guests) at your ceremony. This excludes children under 6 years old. For an additional fee of $75, this number can be increased to 60 people in total. To add guests after your initial booking, go to the Add-ons tab in your portal.
I understand that if I plan to have more than 20 people, it is my responsibility to make the required booking with the park authority and pay any associated site fees directly to them.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to your ceremony (along with your guests) to ensure you are in the right location and ready to go at your scheduled time. Pokolbin Park is located at the intersection of McDonalds Road and De Beyers Road, right in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country.
Now it doesn't happen often, but when it does you will need to shelter under trees or bring umbrellas - how romantic.
As Pokolbin Park is an open public park, there are no permanent structures or indoor facilities available for hire as a dedicated wet weather backup. Your options are:
