A Shortening Voucher is great if you are would like to apply for a Shortening of Time without having to visit your Local Court personally.

Once you have purchased the Shortening Voucher you can complete the Notice of Intended Marriage form and we can lodge it for you.

You will then also need to provide Simple Ceremonies with a letter outlining the reason for your shortening in line with he Marriage Regulations 2017 (Cth) Schedule 3 - Circumstances for authorising marriage despite late notice.

The 5 prescribed categories are set out below.They are

1  Employment‑related or other travel commitments

2  Wedding or celebration arrangements

3  Medical reasons

4  Legal proceedings

5  Error in giving notice.

You will also need to provide Simple Ceremonies with all supporting documentation in relation to your application.

Once you are ready to set a specific: location, date and time please let us know and we will book it in and make arrangements for your to make payment (the standard booking fee for that location).

1. I understand that this purchase does not include your marriage ceremony.

2. I understand that this voucher enables me to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage form, which is required for my applicaton for a Shortening of Time.

3. I understand that for Simple Ceremonies to make the application for a Shortening of Time on our behalf, we also need to provide:

a) a letter outlining the specific reason reason for the Shortening as listed in the Marriage Regulations 2017 (Cth) Schedule 3 - Circumstances for authorising marriage despite late notice.

b) all documentaion in relations to the application. Example. Employment Contract, Medical Certificate etc

4. I understand that if the Shortening of Time is approved, we will then have to make the standard payment for the ceremony.

5. I understand that Simple Ceremonies can not guarentee the the applicaiton will be approved. It is at the decression of the Prescribed Authority.

5. I understand that this payment is non-refundable.
