YOUR CERTIFICATE OF MARRIAGERight after your ceremony, you and your witnesses will sign the
Commonwealth Certificate of Marriage.
This is your official wedding certificate, and you’ll receive it on the day.Keep it somewhere safe – it
can’t be replaced.
While this certificate confirms you are legally married, it may
not be accepted as ID for things like name changes or visa applications.

You
might need a Registered Marriage Certificate (issued by NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages) if:
- You’re applying for a
visa (in Australia or overseas)
- You want to

HOW TO GET YOUR REGISTERED MARRIAGE CERTIFCATE
1. Through Simple Ceremonies (Easy & Fast)
Log in to your portal and add it as an Add-On
(it can be ordered up to 2 weeks after your ceremony)
Fee: $107 ($67 for the certificate + $40 admin fee)
We register your marriage and order the certificate for you.
Certificate is sent via registered post, generally arriving within 4-6 business days.
2. Direct via NSW Births, Deaths & Marriages Apply online after your ceremony has been registered
Complete the form on BDM NSW website and provide 3 forms of ID
Fee: $67
Certificate is sent via registered post
3. Urgent – Click & Collect from BDM NSW
Complete the form on BDM NSW website and provide 3 forms of ID
Select Click & Collect option
Fee: $97
Once approved, you will be contacted by BDM NSW (generally with 2 business day).
At this point you need to make an appointment to pick it up in person from BDM NSW Pymont
