On 8th June 2025, at the picturesque Blues Point Reserve, lovebirds can say “I do” for a mere $150, a significant saving from the usual cost of a wedding ceremony. ALL proceeds go to an amazing cause. But there’s a chilly twist – each couple must take the plunge into an ice bath to exchange their vows.This isn’t just any cold dip, though. It’s part of the 10th annual Big Freeze event, a fundraiser aimed at combating Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a debilitating condition that affects the nerves controlling voluntary muscle movement. The entire fee for the ceremony ($150) will be donated to Fight MND, a charity dedicated to finding a cure for this devastating illness. The initiative is close to the heart of Simple Ceremonies’ owner, Ange Teulon, whose sister Jane tragically passed away from MND in 2018. By participating in this event, couples are not only embarking on a new chapter together but also supporting the ongoing fight against MND. Getting there:

Blues Point Reserve is conveniently located only 5 minutes from the CBD. Arrive by ferry to McMahons Point Wharf (to have the true Sydney experience). Metered street parking is located close by, however it does get busy so you may have to walk some distance. There is disabled parking available. North Sydney & Milsons Point Railway Station are about a 10-minute walk away.

Conditions of booking:

1. Confetti of any sort, including natural materials, such as flower petals are not permitted at this location. 2. We understand that we are both required to get into the "ice baths", at least up to our necks, to say you vows to each other. If we chicken out, we understand that we can proceed with our ceremony, however we will be required to pay the full fee (normally $350). This full amount will be donated to Fight MND. 3. We understand that there will be a photographer there to take photos
