Beyond the formal ceremony areas, the entire reserve is a photographer's dream. With natural bushland settings, expansive lakes, peaceful walking paths, and charming bridges, you'll have an abundance of beautiful locations to capture those precious memories. Your wedding celebrant will have seen it all, and can guide you to the best spots.
💑 Flexible Guest Capacity
Whether you're planning a small, intimate marriage ceremony or a larger celebration, Nurragingy Reserve can cater to your needs. Dedicated wedding gardens have varying capacities—for example, the Jim Lynch Memorial Garden is perfect for smaller groups (up to 50 people), while the Bungarribee Pavilion and Jannawi Garden can accommodate larger numbers (up to 150 people). This flexibility makes it a great choice for all couples.
💰 An Affordable and Accessible Location
As an outdoor public reserve, Nurragingy Reserve is one of the more affordable wedding venues in Western Sydney, offering excellent value without compromising on beauty. It's also easily accessible, located in Doonside with good public transport links and ample on-site parking for your wedding guests.
Yes, a formal booking is required to hold a wedding ceremony in the designated garden areas at Nurragingy Reserve. This ensures your chosen spot is reserved exclusively for your special occasion, providing you peace of mind.
The authority responsible for booking wedding ceremony sites at Nurragingy Reserve is **Blacktown City Council**.
Ceremony bookings are typically made in sessions, usually covering a period of time to allow for set-up, the ceremony itself, and pack-down. The fees are determined by the Council and can vary depending on the duration and the specific garden area chosen.
It is highly recommended that you conduct a site inspection and confirm all current fees and conditions with Blacktown City Council before finalising your arrangements for your chosen marriage venue.
Standard: 20 People. Add Guests: Add up to 100+ in total +$75.

I understand that, it is my responsibility to make the required booking with the park authority and pay any associated site fees directly to them.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to your ceremony (along with your guests) to ensure you are in the right location and ready to go at your scheduled time. Nurragingy Reserve is located in Doonside, easily accessible from across Western Sydney and beyond. The main entrance is off Knox Road.
Private Car (Driving)
The easiest way for most guests is to drive. The reserve is well signposted from major roads. Use GPS/sat-nav to navigate to **Nurragingy Reserve, Knox Road, Doonside, NSW 2767**. Once inside the reserve, follow the internal road network to the car park nearest your specific wedding garden (e.g., the car park near the Colebee Centre is close to the Jannawi and Jim Lynch gardens).
Train (Public Transport)
The closest railway station is **Doonside Station**, which is on the T1 Western Line. From the station, the reserve is a manageable walk (about 15-20 minutes down Cross Street and across Knox Road), or a very short taxi/rideshare trip. You can plan your journey using the NSW Trip Planner.
Bus (Public Transport)
Several bus services operate in the area. The **Line 753 bus** from Doonside Station will take you closer to the reserve's entry points. Alternatively, bus routes like the **751** travel along Richmond Road, which is a short distance from the reserve's perimeter. Check real-time schedules and plan your bus route via the Transport for NSW website.
Taxi or Ride-Share
A convenient option, particularly from local train stations like Blacktown or Doonside. Direct your driver to the specific ceremony garden area you have booked within Nurragingy Reserve via the main Knox Road entrance for the shortest walk to your ceremony spot.
Now it doesn't happen often, but when it does you will need to shelter under trees or bring umbrellas - how romantic. While most of the ceremony areas are beautiful outdoor spaces, a key advantage of Nurragingy Reserve is the availability of covered structures in some of the bookable wedding areas.
If you are booking a garden without a permanent structure, your primary wet weather plan should be a quick ceremony under large trees or with the use of large, stylish umbrellas for you and your guests. Always check the specific features of your booked site with Blacktown City Council.
