The authority responsible for making a function booking at The Fernery is the venue's events team:
As a private function venue, The Fernery operates on tailored package pricing, which typically includes venue hire, catering, and beverage costs. They cater to a range of function styles, including large weddings (e.g., up to 250 cocktail style or 150 sit-down dinner in the associated Mosman Club Auditorium, or dedicated areas within The Fernery itself).
If you are using a service like Simple Ceremonies for a small, simple wedding celebrant service at The Fernery, please note that an additional location fee may apply, and guest numbers may be capped unless a full venue hire is arranged. Always confirm all fees and guest limits directly with The Fernery's events team.
Standard: 20 People. Add Guests: Add up to 100+ in total +$75.
You can have up to 20 people (the 2 of you and 18 guests) at your ceremony. This excludes children under 6 years old. For an additional fee of $75, this number can be increased to 100+ people in total. To add guests after your initial booking, go to the Add-ons tab in your portal.
I understand that, it is my responsibility to make the required booking with the park authority and pay any associated site fees directly to them.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to your ceremony (along with your guests) to ensure you are in the right location and ready to go at your scheduled time. The Fernery is located on the rooftop of Mosman Club at 719 Military Road.
The Fernery is situated on Military Road, a major route. Parking can be found at the Mosman Club Car Park (via Gouldsbury Street and Lennon Lane), which offers secure, undercover parking for a fee. Additionally, metered and time-limited street parking is available on Military Road and surrounding streets. Be sure to check all signage and use the Park'nPay app where applicable, as restrictions are strictly enforced.
This is often the most convenient option, especially for the wedding couple and bridal party. Simply input the address: "The Fernery, 719 Military Road, Mosman" for a direct drop-off right near the entrance to the Mosman Club, where you can then take the lift up to the rooftop venue.
Mosman is well-served by Sydney Buses, with numerous routes travelling along Military Road. Look for routes that pass Mosman Junction or the Mosman Club. Key bus stops are located directly outside or a very short walk from the venue. Check the Transport for NSW website or app for the best route from your starting point.
Now it doesn't happen often, but when it does you will need to shelter under trees or bring umbrellas - how romantic. Since The Fernery is a commercial function space, the wet weather options are straightforward.
Wet Weather Options:
If you have booked The Fernery for your wedding, your ceremony can typically be moved into one of the venue's sheltered or internal function areas. Discuss your wet weather contingency plan with The Fernery's functions coordinator when you make your booking to ensure a suitable indoor space is secured in advance, offering a comfortable and dry alternative to an outdoor wedding venue.
